“If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him?” (Matthew 7:11)
My baby settles into my arms. He turns his head toward my voice. My scent means food and safety. He’s only 8 days old, but he is already learning that he can trust his mama.
Why? Because in his short life, he’s discovered that mama is there when he needs something. If he’s hungry, mama provides food. If he needs comfort, mama provides soothing.
If my imperfect care for my baby can train him to trust me, then my heavenly Father’s PERFECT care for me ought to lead me to trust Him. He’s never let me down, and He never will. I can look to Him for provision and protection with the same kind of confidence and faith my baby looks at me with. Actually, I can look to Him with an even greater confidence and faith because I know He is perfect in His care.
